Owings Mills, Maryland – Edaptive is pleased to announce a new business win to support the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP) and the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). The VICP is a no-fault alternative to the traditional tort system for resolving vaccine injury claims that has been providing compensation to people injured by certain vaccines for the last 25 years. The CICP provides compensation to individuals for serious physical injuries or deaths from pandemic, epidemic or security countermeasures identified in declarations issued by the Secretary of HHS. These programs provide an avenue for people adversely impacted by vaccines and countermeasures to receive compensation. The Injury Compensation System (ICS) is a case management system that provides powerful tools to track all aspects of the claims process from beginning to end. It also provides the ability to immediately generate a wide-range of reports for the purposes of program management, Congressional inquiries, public data, and budget formulation, amongst others. The ICS is a ‘one-stop shopping’ tool that includes uploads of all case-specific documentation, including voluminous legal and medical records and a complete desk-top central reference source for program managers, medical officers, and records management staff.
As the Prime contractor on this program at HRSA ($3.3M funded), Edaptive and its subcontractor SAIC, will provide IT support services to the ICS system. Our work will include stabilizing, operating, maintaining, and enhancing the CICP/VICP Injury Compensation System (ICS).
